Hypocrisy reigns supreme in this world. I have had to deal with a lot of it coming from many different quarters.
The most common feature in everyone is "I will Preach(think that I do practice), but dont Practice".
Is it so difficult to not be bothered about inane issues in life?
Is it so difficult to do what you say?
Is it so difficult to abstain from being Moose Miller?
Is it a crime to take things as I want to because its my life?
Is it a sign of immaturity or irresponsibility that i enjoy every moment in life?
Is it a sign of maturity or responsibility to be serious and not enjoy life?
I dont know how to behave to please certain people or to make true their expectations of how i should be. I do what I please and when I please.
If someone thinks its not proper, THINK(I cant stop anyone from thinking). But before anyone has the guts to point a finger at me, look at your own actions. I am sure once people look at their own actions I will appear to be a saint.
I am alive, this is my only life and I will most definitely LIVE it MY WAY.

Changing Life
Sitting here in my office i wonder how fast life changes and how fast time moves ahead. The images from my childhood, teen years, college life are so vividly clear that its amazing to see all those times are over. So much happens over each day and suddenly you see such a drastic change in one's life when u look back at your life.
I will keep this post related to only one part of my life. Me n my brothers.
4 Guys. My cousins, but more than brothers. We grew up together. Since we were little infants we were together almost all the time. Few separations here n there. Played in the mud, ate ice-cream, video games, swimming. As we started growing each one's persona started to develop more concretely.
GK : Eldest. Sober, decent and very responsible(typical big bro).
Me : Second in command. Not sober, not decent(indecent sounds too cheap), outgoing.
VK : Carbon copy of me with a few variations.
KMN : Youngest. Quiet, awesome cook, gadget freak and loves disassembling anything and everything.
Why is it that always the extremeties have similar traits? GK n KMN were always reserved(not introverted), loved staying back home and Me n VK were always upto pranks, roaming the city and restless. I still clearly remember all four of us eating mangoes and spilling all the pulp on ourselves while granny would narrate awesome stories. Since we were kids we never had this feeling that we were not one family. We were and are still more than family. From granny stories to movies, from outdoor sports to video games, from doordarshan to cable tv it was a super journey. Even when i was far away from these guys i never felt the distance.
Then college. We were adults. Me n GK went off towards the science stream. VK n KMN went off towards the commerce stream. The best part started when we entered the college life. Smoking, drinking, smoking up. And naturally i was the one who started off with all these. It was such a sight to see VK n KMN smoke, without inhaling the smoke, for the first time. Taught them how to smoke. I still clearly remember the number of times VK coughed the first time he inhaled the smoke. Then as things turned out i ended up teaching the Big B how to smoke.
Those fun, no-worry years. Then college life over. GK joined a software firm. VK joined a BPO. I joined a software firm also. :( . KMN wants to study further.
Now GK is in love and wants to get married. Got the news from my mom yesterday night and i was pleasantly shocked. This piece of news got me thinking and i traced our journey back to the old days.
Memories, all good, na great. And its only been 24 years. We still have another 40 years to enjoy life as the 4 Guys. I have no idea where our lives will lead us to but i am sure wherever we are, we will always be closer than brothers.

The Radio
Nikola Tesla's invention.
A device for transmitting signals wirelessly. A humble beginning. I am referring to the radio as a source of audio entertainment.
The Indian radio scene.
The All India Radio, formerly known as Indian Broadcasting Service, came into existence in the year 1927(so long ago??? i never knew this). It is one of the largest radio broadcasters in the world and is the largest radio broadcaster in the country.
but.......but.......
Somehow down the line, the advent of cable tv and other digital media like cd's, dvd's the radio lost its charm(atleast in the big cities). During the early 90's the radio was almost in extinction. No one i knew was into listening to the radio and to add to that was the poor reception of the AIR.
The mid-nineties saw the emergence of private FM channels. Superb quality audio, negligible distortion. The major metros got the first FM slots. And being a Bangalorean after all this talk i wil get back to the radio scene in my city.
Radio city was the first private FM channel to start operations in Bangalore in 2001. The superb audio quality, chic presentation of the "RJ's" and selection of popular songs catering to all classes made it an instant hit. I remember those days when there was a sudden surge in the sales of FM radio sets. It was a frenzy. Radios ranging from big music systems costing around 20-30 k to pocket radios costing less than Rs. 100 were selling like hot-cakes. I have spent so much on buying atleast 5-6 radios and made my parents buy a 22k SONY music system. Then as with anything thats succesful there was a surplus of radio stations, each catering and concentrating on different music genres, languages, etc.
The reason for this blog. The radio is such an awesome avenue for entertainment. Even if one has thousands of songs on the computer or ipods, the joy of listening to your favourite music without selecting them yourselves is altogether different. Office work is so boring and hectic and music keeps me relaxed. All these days i used to carry my ipod with me for entertainment. 30 gb of storage space. With that kind of storage space i could carry all my music with me. But then again i know every song that i have and i have listened to all of them. Now i listen to the radio on my phone. Half of everyday is spent listening to the radio.
I am really hooked onto Radio Fever. Music that i like, repeated many times a day. My savior all day. Keeps me going through the boring rigors of work.
Thank the radio.

Weekend Lure
The start of a new week. Monday.
"Oh goddam, i have to go to work :( "
This is the feeling that everyone i know gets at the start of a new week.
Why?
If i am right, atleast with my own feeligns, then i can definitely say everyone in this world would love to get paid without ever stepping out to work on a monday. The first thought every monday morning is "when wil friday dawn upon me?".
I still wonder why they call it "Monday Morning Blues". Whatever the reason maybe, its funny to see the majority of the working class wearing blue clothing on a monday. Does the colour blue have any significance with monday. I somehow feel no other colour woul do justice on a monday.
As the week progresses, u realise the weekend is suddenly upon us. And u start to wonder how fast the week passed by. And one more week in your life is over. But who cares? The weekend is here. yippppppppeeeeeeeee
Friday evenings. There is such an elated feeling in everyone's hearts. Being in Bangalore i know that 90% of the people head straight to bars, pubs, discs to get high n release the pressures of the whole working week. Well with Bangalore being the "Beer Capital" of Asia, no wonder all bars n pubs are full on a friday evening.
Saturday. Getting up late without the worry of getting to office early is such a pleasure. The old college days re-visited. Roam here n there. Meet friends whom you havent been able to catch up with during the working week. And head to a bar or pub again on saturday. Any surprises? In Bangalore? No way. Dunno about any other city.
Sunday. Again get up late. Really late. Mostly at lunch time. Then a few hours of fun before the feeling of going to work on monday starts to loom large in your face.
And the story goes on. Super exciting life we all got.
PS: This is the story of the first 2 or 3 weeks of a month. By the 4th week the story changes for most because almost everyone is broke by then. Then again another story starts to weave. "Salary Lure"
